Ionia Traveled to Allendale High School today were two bulldogs competed in the MHSAA Individual Regionals. Senior Demetri Davis finished just short of bringing home a medal bringing his season to an end .Demetri finished his season with 18 wins and a Regional qualifier placing him in the top 32 wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Junior Killian Campbell had a great day going 3-1 and his 3 wins coming in a dominate way with a 23-8 tech fall in the first round  then a 7-1 win in the blood round  and finished the day with an 8-0 Major Decision win to take 3rd place. Killian Campbell is a State qualifier top 16 in the state.  Killian  will compete in the State Finals March 4th-5th at Ford Field.    Our Girl Wrestlers will compete in the first ever MHSAA girls only regional tournament tomorrow 2/20/22 where the top 8 will also qualify for the state finals.   

Ionia traveled to Lowell to compete in the MHSAA individual district tournament. Ionia has TWO regional qualifiers Killian Campbell at 140 went 3-1 and took 3rd place with his only loss being to the district champion from Lowell. Senior Demetri Davis went 3-2 at the 189 lb weight class and placed 4th moving onto regionals. Qualifying for regionals means both boys are now in the top 32 wrestlers in the state in their weight class. Also getting wins today were wrestlers Logan Rozewski, Nate Dygert, Hunter Barker, Jon Anderson, Nathan Clute, and Chase Holford. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat next weekend for Regionals where the boys will wrestle Saturday at Allendale High School. Our girls will wrestle Sunday at the 1st ever MHSAA Girls Only Regionals.  

Ionia varsity wrestling team traveled to Greenville High school to compete in the MHSAA team districts. Ionia wrestled Lowell in the first round and lost bringing our team dual season to an end. The Lowell Red Arrows have won the last 8 straight Division 2 MHSAA wrestling team state titles. Your bulldogs finished the season with a dual record of 14-8.  Ionia will travel to Lowell High School this Saturday to compete in the MHSAA individual districts. Wrestling starts at 9:30 AM

Ionia Varsity Wrestling team traveled to Fowlerville to compete in the CAAC conference Individual tournament where all 18 Teams in the CAAC wrestled. Ethan Bowen went 2-2 on the day and placed 4th in conference bringing home a medal. Nathan Clute went 3-2 placing 6th. Chris Smith went 1-3 placing 8th. your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this week Thursday for Team Districts at Greenville High School Wrestling starts at 5:30. Individual Districts will be Saturday at Lowell High School wrestling starts at 9:30am

Ionia Varsity Wrestling team goes 2-0 to end the regular season. Beating Lansing Everett 54-13, and beating Lansing Eastern 46-15. Ionia's Dual Record is now 14-7. Going 2-0 tonight were wrestlers Logan Rozewski, Paige Campbell, Killian Campbell, Jon Anderson, Victor Ledesma, and Ethan Bowen. Wrestlers also getting a win tonight were Levi Schied, Nate Dygert, Chase Holford, Jonathan Rico, and Chris Smith. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Saturday at Fowlerville High School to wrestle in the CAAC Conference Tournament.  Tonight was also Parent / Senior Night. We would like to recognize our 3 seniors on the team Nate Dygert, Paige Campbell and Demetri Davis. Thank you seniors for all of your hard work, dedication and leadership over the past 4 years. Thank you to all of the parents for your support, and all the extra time put in this season. 

Ionia's Varsity Wrestling team traveled to Battle Creek Central Saturday to compete in an Individual tournament with over 20 different schools. Ionia Had 4 wrestlers place in the top 8. Jonathan Anderson placed 8th and Nate Dygert placed 7th. Logan Rozewski went 2-2 at 103 lb weight class bringing home a 4th place medal. Killian Campbell went 3-1 at 140 lb weight class and brought home a 3rd place medal. Ethan Bowen, Nate Clute and Chris Smith also all got 1 win. Ionia will be back on the mat this Wednesday at Ionia High school for our last home quad of the season wrestling starts at 6pm .  

Ionia Varsity Wrestling had two big wins tonight at Montabella. First win of the night was against Perry Ionia Won 51-30. Ionia then went on to wrestle Carson City Crystal where Ionia won 70-12.Ionia's Dual Record is now 12-7.  Wrestlers  with 2 wins tonight were Logan Rozewski, Kara Kramer-Lake, Nate Dygert, Paige Campbell, Devin Leland, Killian Campbell, Jonathan Anderson, Ethan Bowen, and Demetri Davis. Also Getting a Win tonight were wrestlers Victor Ledesma, Chase Holford, Chris Smith and Logan Turnes.   Ionia Wrestling has a very busy weekend coming up. First up Friday night our Varsity girl wrestlers will travel to Ovid-Elsie to compete in a Girls only wrestling tournament wrestling starts at 5pm. Also Friday Night the Ionia Middle School team will Host a middle school team tournament at the Ionia High School wrestling starts at 5pm. Then our boys varsity team goes to Battle Creek Central High School Saturday to wrestle 20+ team individual tournament wrestling starts at 8:30 am. Then to cap off the weekend Ionia is also hosting a  youth MYWAY wrestling tournament Sunday Wrestling starts at 9am. 

Ionia traveled to Fowlerville for an all girls wrestling tournament. Ionia had two girls wrestle, Paige Campbell and Sarah Schafer. Sarah had a hard bracket, but wrestled very tough. Sarah went 0-3 tonight, but wrestled the #3 ranked girl in the state and then wrestled the #7 ranked wrestler in her weight class. Paige Campbell went 2-1 tonight, and took 2nd place with her only loss being to the #7 ranked wrestler in the state in her weight class with a final score of 8-4.    Your Bulldogs with be back on the mat Tuesday at Montabella High School. Wrestling starts at 6pm. 

Ionia Finished the conference dual season tonight vs Portland falling to Portland 60-20. Finishing 3rd in our conference going 2-2 in dual meets. The bulldogs then continued on to beat Okemos 66-12. Ionia's Season dual record now stands at 10-7. Logan Rozewski, Killian Campbell, Jonathan Anderson and Nathan Clute all went 2-0 tonight. Wrestlers going 1-1 tonight were Levi Schied, Nathan Dygert, Devin Leland, Ethan Bowen, Chase Holford, and Chirs Smith.    Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Friday where we will be wrestling a girls tournaments at Fowlerville High School. The Varsity Team  will be back on the mat next week Tuesday at Montabella High School. 

Ionia traveled to Lakeview this weekend to wrestle in 2 tournaments, a JV tournament Friday night and a Varsity tournament Saturday. Friday, Ionia had 11 wrestlers and eight placed in the top 4 and seven brought home medals. Nathan Dygert took 1st place going 4-0 and Logan Rozewski also took 1st place. Paige Campbell took 2nd place going 3-1, Kara Kramer-Lake place 2nd going 2-1 and Logan Turnes placed 2nd going 4-1. Levi Schied and Sarah Schafer placed 3rd and Victor Ledesma placed 4th.    Ionia brought seven wrestlers to the varsity tournament where all seven wrestlers placed in the top 6 bringing home some hardware. We also placed 4th as a team out of 16 schools. Taking 2nd place today was Jonathan Anderson at the 145 pound wt class . Killian Campbell took 3rd place at 140 with his only loss of the day being to a returning state finalist. Nathan Clute at 171 and Chris Smith at HWT both took 4th place. Ethan Bowen at 160 and Chase Holford at 215 both took 5th place. Demetri Davis finished 6th and went 3-2 on the day.    Ionia will be back on the mat this Wednesday at Ionia High School wrestling starts at 6pm.

Ionia is now 2-1 in the Conference and has a team dual record of 9 wins and 6 losses. Ionia had 3 wrestlers go 2-0 tonight Logan Rozewski, Kara Kramer-Lake and Nate Clute. Wrestlers geting 1 win tonight were Paige Campbell, Keagan Lang, Devin Leland, Killian Campbell, Victor Ledesma, Ethan Bowen, Demetri Davis, Chase Holford, Logan Turnes and Chris Smith . Your bulldogs had another great day placing 3rd as a team out of 8 teams. Ionia had 8 individuals placing in the top 4 and bringing home medals. Killian Campbell was a champion at the 140 pound weight class. Ionia had 3 wrestlers place 2nd Ethan Bowen at 160, Nathan Clute at 171, and Demetri Davis at 189. Chase Holford and Jonathan Anderson Placed 3rd. Logan Turnes and Victor Ledesma placed 4th. Also getting a win today were wrestlers Paige Campbell, Logan Rozewski, and Chris Smith. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Wednesday at Williamston High School Wrestling starts at 5:00pm 

Your Ionia Bulldogs had a great night with two big wins. Starting the night out with a win against Eaton Rapids 54-30, advancing our conference dual record to 1-1. Ionia's second win of the night was to Lansing Eastern with a score or 57-15. Ionia now has an overall dual record of 8-5. Going 2-0 on the night were wrestlers Logan Rozewski, Paige Campbell, Killian Campbell, Jonathan Anderson, Ethan Bowen, Nate Clute, and Chris Smith. Also getting a win tonight were wrestlers Keagan Lang, Devin Leland, Victor Ledesma, Demetri Davis, Chase Holford, and Logan Turnes. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this weekend at Hastings high school wrestling starts at 9:30am. 

Ionia hosted the 23rd annual Mike Adamson Invitational today, where your Bulldogs placed 4th out of 10 teams. Taking 2nd place were wrestlers Killian Campbell at 140 going 3-1 and Paige Campbell at 119 going 4-1. Chris Smith took 3rd place at Heavy Weight going 4-1. Ionia had 3 wrestlers take 4th place today Logan Rozewski at 103 and Nate Clute at 171 both going 3-2, and Jon Anderson going 2-2 . Ionia had 2 wrestlers place 5th Ethan Bowen at 160 and Demetri Davis at 189 both going  3-2. Also finding success today were wrestlers Levi Schied going 2-3, Nathan Dygert going 2-3, Victor Ledesma with a win, Chase Holford  with a win, and Logan Turnes went 2-3. Over all the bulldogs had a great day and got a lot of great wrestling in.  Thank you to everyone who came out today. Ionia hosted the Ionia County Quad this evening hosting Lakewood, Belding and Portland. Ionia went 0-2 tonight falling to Lakewood 54-30 then to Belding 52-27. Wrestlers going 2-0 tonight were Killian Campbell and Logan Rozewski. Also coming out with a win tonight were wrestlers Kara Kramer-Lake, Nathan Dygert, Paige Campbell, Jonathan Anderson, Nathan Clute, and Chris Smith. Your Bulldogs are now 6-5 on the season. The Bulldogs will be back on the mat next week Thursday 12/30/21, where they will be hosting our annual Mike Adamson Invitation Tournament; wrestling starts at 9am.

Ionia Varsity Wrestling team traveled to Grand Ledge high school  tonight and lost two close matches. Ionia's first match of the night was also Ionia's first conference dual of the season vs returning team state qualifier's Charlotte. The bulldogs fell short by one match losing 33-35. In round two Ionia Wrestled Grand Ledge and lost another tough dual 47-30. Going 2-0 tonight were wrestlers Logan Rozewski, Killian Campbell and Chase Holford. Also winning matches tonight were wrestlers Nathan Dygert, Devin Leland, Natalie Fassett, Nathan Clute, and Chris Smith. Ionia is now 6-3 on the season. The Bulldogs had a great day in Delton Kellogg going 4-1 and placing 2nd in the tournament as a team. Ionia beat White Pigeon 45-36 , Delton Kellogg 51-30, Berrien Springs 69-12, and Parchment 60-12. The bulldogs only loss of the day was to Paw Paw. Your Bulldogs are now 6-1 on the Season. Sophomore Hunter Barker and Junior Nathan Clute Lead the team going 4-1 on the day. Going 3-2 today were wrestlers  Logan Rozewski, Paige Campbell, Devin Leland, Jonathan Anderson, Killian Campbell, Victor Santiago-Ledesma, Demetri Davis, and Chris Smith. Also finding success were wrestlers Keagan Lang, Thaddeus Breton, Kara Kramer, Chase Holford, Levi Scheid,Natalie Fassett, and Logan Turnes. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat next week Wednesday 12/15 at Grand Ledge High School. 

Ionia's varsity wrestling team went 2-0 in season opener at Portland. Ionia beat  Marshall 43-42 on 6 criteria Tie Breaker then continued on beating Sturgis 48 -30. Going 2-0 on the night were wrestlers Logan Rozewski, Keagan Lang, Hunter Barker, Jonathan Anderson, Chris Smith and Logan Turnes. Also earning wins tonight were Thaddeus Breton, Devin Leland, Janae Suggate, Demetri Davis, Chase Holford, and Levi Scheid. The Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Saturday competing at a team tournament in Delton Kellogg.
