The JV football team lost to a tough St Johns team 8-48. Nolan Hart scored the lone touchdown and Ethan Wenzel converted the 2 point conversion. Kendall Cusack had a fumble recovery.

The Junior Varsity football team won at Fowlerville 56-0. Scoring touchdowns were Nolan Hart with 3, Vincent Crippen 3 and Ethan Wenzel with 1. Ionia converted on all seven 2-point conversions; Ethan Wenzel with 3, Nolan Hart 2, Ryan Cooper 1 and Kendall Cusack with a receiving from Nolan Hart.
The defense had a strong effort pitching a shutout. Nolan Hart had an interception and a punt block while Dane Falter and Denim Lahr each recovered fumbles.
Ionia is 2-4 on the season and will travel to St. John's on Thursday.
JV Football defeated by Lansing Sexton

The short handed JV football battled for four quarters but came up short vs. Lansing Sexton 24-28. The JV Bulldogs have shown significant improvement. Ethan Wenzel scored all 24 points with 3 touchdowns and 3-2 point conversions.
Ionia will travel to Lansing Catholic next Thursday.

Ionia JV Football won its first game of the season 40-6 on the road against Eaton Rapids. Dawson Leland scored 3 touchdowns and Nolan Hart scored 2 touchdowns. The Bulldogs converted all 5 2-point conversions with 2 runs from Nolan Hart and 1 each from Ethan Wenzel and Vinny Crippen.
The defense played well with a shootout until the 4th quarter. Dawson Leland had an interception, Kendall Cusack blocked a punt and Wyatt Berry had several pass break-ups.
Ionia is 1-0 on the season and will host Portland on Thursday.
