The Block I Award is given annually to athletes that have represented their teams, school, and community with pride by participating in 3 sports seasons each year of their entire Ionia High School career. 

The Class of 2023 has 11 student-athletes receiving the Block I Award which is the most of class since the awards inception.  Below is the Class of 2023 Block I Award winners and the sports they participated in each season:

• Gavin Flanner Tennis, Bowling, and Track
• Miles Gregory Teniis, Basketball, and Baseball 
• Chase Holford Football, Basketball(9)/Wrestling, and Baseball(9/10)/Track(11/12
• Paul Meyer Football, Powerlifting and Track
• Sam Meyer Football, Bowling, and Golf
• Devon Reyes Soccer, Basketball, and Track
