The Ionia Varsity Volleyball team took to their home court for the first time this season against Greenville. They came out strong in the first set ready to play, but fell short to finish. Ionia worked to string together several strong defensive efforts that led to great offense, but were unable to rally and ended up dropping the match. Defensively the Bulldogs were led by Kate Brown with 21 digs while Logan Thomas added 9. At the net defensively Emma White had 2 blocks while Grace Droste added 1. Behind the service line Droste and K. Brown both dropped in 2 aces. Logan Thomas led the Bulldogs on offense with 11 kills while Grace Droste added 5. Droste dished out 12 assists while Alexias Daugherty added 6. The Bulldogs move to 6-4 on the season. Next week Ionia opens conference play against Olivet for their Purple game on Tuesday at 6pm.
