Girls Cross Country Results From Last Chance Meet

The girls cross country team competed in the Last Chance Meet at Uncle Johns Cider Mill today!  All 4 of Ionia's girls ran in competing against 74 runners from area schools on a course that was pretty flat, which makes for a fast times. The girls took home 3 medals! Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson. Carliegh placed 20th, giving her a career personal record of 22:32.6 Emma Lang placed 58th; with a time of 27:34.4. Enma Rio placed 64th; with a career personal record of 29:27.8. Angie Reyes placed 71st; with a career personal record of 32:09.6. The girls had a great season. Good Job Bulldogs!

The girls cross country team competed in the MHSAA Regionals at South Christian High School on a wet and muddy course! The race featured 101 of the top division 2 runners throughout the GR area.  Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson placing 56th with a time of 22:54.93.  Followed by Emma Lang who placed 85th; while shaving 30 seconds off of her previous time, giving her a new PR time of 26:39.04.  Enma Rio placed 97th with a time of 31:42.28 and Angie Reyes placed 99th; while shaving 36 seconds off of her PR with a time, giving her a new PR of 32:40.9.    Their final meet of the season is Thursday November 2nd, at Uncle Johns Cider Mill for Last Chance Meet!

Today the girls competed in their last league meet of the season! Today’s race had  68 athletes.  Today all 4 girls raced! Like the boys, the girls had a very wet and muddy course. Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson. Carliegh placed 14th overall, giving her a 14th place All-League spot.  Emma Lang placed 50th and Enma Rio placed 66th in today’s meet. Angie Reyes placed 67th, giving her another season best with a time of 34:04.9!   Next meet is Saturday, October 28th,  at South Christian High School for Regionals!
Girls Cross Country Results From Greater Lansing Invite

Today the girls  competed at The Greater Lansing Invite. The race featured 219 athletes from over 40 surrounding Lansing area schools.   We only had 3 girls compete in the race and just like the boys, the girls had a very wet and muddy course to deal with. Leading our girls was Emma Lang placing 194th with a time of 27:20, Emma Rio placed 206 giving her a personal best time of 31:22.1, and Angie Reyes placing 210, giving her a season best with a time of 34:18.5!   Our next meet is Thursday October 19th,  at St. Francis Retreat Center where we will be competing in our last league jamboree of the season and honoring our seniors after the race!

The girls cross country team traveled to Eaton Rapids today to compete in the 2nd of three CAAC White Jamborees.   The race featured 66 runners from 8 schools.  Carleigh Thompson paced the Bulldogs finishing in 11th place, improving 12 spots from the first jamboree and giving her points on the board. Emma Lang came in  46th also putting her on the points board. Emma Rio placed 57th.  While Angie Reyes placing 62nd!   The Bulldogs back in action on Saturday at The Greater Lansing Invite!

The girls cross country team traveled to Shepherd for the Bluejay Invitational on Saturday.  The race featured 110+ athletes from all across the state. The Bulldogs only had two girls race. With Carleigh Thompson finishing in 89th place with a time of 24:06.0 and Angie Reyes finishing with a time of 34:48.9. The girls will be back in action on Tuesday at Burchfield Park in Eaton Rapids for the second of 3 CAAC White jamborees.

The girls competed at The Cougar Falcon Invite today at Grand Rapids South Christian. There were over 150+ athletes in the race field representing more than 25 high schools. The race was split into 3 divisions for results. In our division (Cougar) the girls finished 10th. Leading our girls was Carleigh Thompson finishing in 41st!  Enma Rio ran another personal best, running about 15 seconds faster than Tuesday time! Next meet is next Saturday at The Shepherd BlueJay Invite!

Today the girls ran competed at their first league meet in Portland! Carleigh Thompson finished in 23rd giving her a spot to get points in the league! Emma Lang  placed 45th, also running a 19 second  personal best with a time of 27:08.6. Enma Rio ran a personal best running about  3 minutes faster than last week. Next meet is this weekend at The Cougar Falcon Invite!

The girls cross country team competed at the Central Montcalm Invite.  Today's meet was different as runners were divide by grade levels!  We came out with 2 medals, as sophomore Enma Rio and freshman Emma Lang both placed 20th in their respective races.  Lang also ran a 2 minute personal best with a time of 27:26.95. Next meet is in two weeks at Portland High School for our first Jamboree.

Today the girlsran at Uncle Johns Cider Mill competing in the 22nd Marauder Invite! Sophomore Carleigh Thompson ran a 23:24.28, with a finishing place of 24th earning her a medal. Freshman Emma Lang and Sophomore Enma Rio ran Personal Best today. Emma ran a 29:05.0 and Enma ran a 34:38.3. Sophomore Angie came a way with a 36:00.0 running almost 3 minutes faster than she ran last year at this meet. Next meet is Saturday and we are at Central Montcalm Hornet Invite.

The girls competed at the Saranac Invite today and all 4 girls came away with either a personal record or seasonal best!  Sophomore Carleigh Thompson ran a 22:49.8 and finishing 31st. Freshman Emma Lang and sophomore Enma Rio ran their first 5k races. With Emma running a 29:11.8 and Enma running a 35:17.2. Sophomore Angie came a way with a 37:10.7 running almost 4 minutes faster than she ran last year at this meet. The girls will be back in action next Wednesday at Uncle Johns Cider Mill for the Marauder Invitational.

Today the girls ran competed at the Hoka Post National Cougar Invite hosted by Lansing Catholic at the St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt. They came away with 1 medal from Carleigh Thompson's 4th place finish. All 4 girls came away with either a Personal Record or Seasonal Best! THe girls will be back in action next week Wednesday at The Saranac Invite.
