Girls 7th Grade B Volleyball beats Portland Middle School

The Ionia Volleyball B Team came to play tonight! Ionia won the first two sets and dropped the third 25-12, 25-23 and 13-15. The Lady Dawgs worked together tonight to battle their county rival Portland. The first set was dominated with strong serving and serve receive. The second set started with a 10 point lead by Portland before Ionia battled back and won the set. Olivia White stepped up and had some good tips and hits on the front line. It truly was a total team effort tonight. The leading servers for Ionia were Danica Cummings 12 points, Mehira Rustin 8, and Jordyn Cavagnaro and Brooklyn Castillo 6. The Ionia B Team is 5-4 for the season. Congratulations, and Go Dawgs!

The Ionia Volleyball B Team dominated Waverly with their serves tonight. The Lady Dawgs swept Waverly 25-5, 25-17 and 15-3. Ionia put together a total team effort this evening and their serves were on fire. Danica Cummings led all servers with 18 service points, Faith Rood 6, and Evalyn Huested 5. The Lady Dawgs are now 4-4 on the season and will play their final match at home on Monday. Go Dawgs!

The Ionia Volleyball B Team lost the first two sets to St. Johns tonight and won the third set. The first set was a back and forth battle that had Ionia falling 22-25. Playing tough at the net was Alissa Castillo and Jordyn Cavagnaro. Ionia hustled and served well. Ionia struggled in the second set as the Lady Dawgs lost 13-25. Passing the ball well was Brooklyn Castillo and Lila Haack. Ionia jumped out to a quick lead in the third set and finished strong to win 15-13. The Ionia B Team is 3-4 on the season and will travel to Waverly on Wednesday.

The Ionia Volleyball B Team swept all three sets from the visiting team from Eaton Rapids, 25-7, 25-11 and 15-6. The Lady Dawgs served well tonight and continued to develop their teamwork and hustle. The leading servers were Olivia White with 7 service points, Brooklyn Castillo 9 and Danica Cummings 11. The Lady Dawgs were offensive minded at the net as Lila Haack, Faith Rood and Alissa Castillo dominated with well placed tips and attacks. Overall, Ionia is continuing to gel as a team and are now 3-3 on the season. Ionia will be back in action on Monday as we travel to St. Johns. Well done, Ladies!

The Ionia Volleyball B Team faced a tough opponent tonight. Ionia dropped the first two sets 12-25 and 10-25. The Lady Dawgs started slow and battled for every point. Ionia started the third set with three straight service points and continued to serve well throughout and won the set 15-8. The leading servers tonight were Mehira Rustin, Kiana Clark and Danica Cummings. Ionia is 2-3 on the season and is back in action at home on Wednesday. Come out and support your Lady Dawgs.

The Ionia Volleyball B Team faced a tough opponent as they took on the Portland Raiders. Ionia started the first set with several strong serves but soon found themselves in a back and forth battle. Ionia dropped the first set 15-25. Jordyn Cavagnaro was solid in the front row and Alissa Castillo added 4 service points. The Lady Dawgs jumped out to a quick lead behind the serves of Danica Cummings. Then the fun began. Ionia hustled and played together to fight for every point. Mehira Rustin and Olivia Clark stepped up big with 7 service points. Ionia dropped a heart breaker 24-26. Ionia carried the momentum into the third set and continued to gel as a team and serve strong. Ionia dropped the final set 12-15. The match was exciting and the girls fought hard. The Ionia B Team is 2-2 on the season and will travel on Monday to face Lakewood.

The Ionia Volleyball B Team stayed in town tonight as they faced the SSPP Volleyball team. In front of a packed house, the atmosphere was electric and loud. Both teams came to battle and displayed great sportsmanship throughout the sets. The first set was back and forth and Ionia's serve helped the Lady Dawgs win, 25-18. With momentum on their side, Ionia started the second set with the lead but SSPP fought hard and tied the set 24-24. Ionia dropped the set 24-26. The Ionia B Team will travel to Portland on Wednesday. Let's go, Ionia!

The Ionia Volleyball B Team took to the road tonight to face the Charlotte Orioles and swept all 3 sets. Each set was a back and forth battle but Ionia's teamwork and strong serving propelled the team to 3 victories 25-20, 25-19 and 17-16. Leading Ionia with service points was Olivia White and Danica Cummings with 8 and Brooklyn Castillo 7. Madisyn Roth was offensive minded with several great sets back over the net and Aubreana Velasquez had a dominating kill in the third set. The team worked together to bring home this strong win. Let's Go, Lady Dawgs! Ionia B Team is 2-1 and will face SSPP on Tuesday.

The 7th grade Ionia B Volleyball team faced a tough opponent this evening. The first and second sets were back and forth battles with Ionia falling just a little short losing 23-25 and 26-27. Mehira Rustin, Brooklyn Castillo and Danica Cummings lead the team with defensive passes. Overall, the ladies fought hard and are beginning to gel on the court. Kiana Clark stepped back to the service line and had 5 service points for the Lady Dawgs. Ionia won the third set 15-8. The Ionia B Team is 1-1 and will travel to Charlotte on Wednesday.

The Ionia B Volleyball team opened their season with a solid victory over county rival Lakewood. Ionia won the first set 25-18.Danica Cummings and Alissa Castillo lead the Lady Dawgs with some awesome serving. Lakewood took the second set 11-25 and Ionia rallied in the third for a 15-11 win. Olivia White stepped up on defense with 10 passes and aggressive net play. Overall Ionia worked hard and played as a team to win their season opener. Ionia is 1-0 and will play at home on Monday.
