The Junior Varsity soccer team was back in action on Friday night against an Okemos team that has a legendary program built with an abundance of experienced players. You know when you play against Okemos they bring their "A" game with lots of players.

By contrast the Ionia JV is in the early stages of learning to play together as a team. Our roster is light in numbers at this moment but we have some talented players. In a game like tonight's against Okemos you are looking for the players to work hard and learn, regardless of the scoreline. The players did play real hard and even with being a player down throughout the entire game, there was never a chance they were going to give up.That's how we get better. 

As the team continues into the season there are a lot more games on the schedule and they will be competitive. We're hoping one of our biggest developments is in roster size. We have some players returning but also have room in the squad for new players so as Ionia goes back to school, we would love to have more players come aboard.
